American Express Cancellation Policy
If a cardmember does not use his/her card for a period of 12 months
(one year), American Express may send the cardmember a letter informing
the cardmember that the card will be cancelled.
American Express has informed us that this is being done in an effort
to reduce their administrative costs. They are using this cancellation
policy to eliminate cards from members who never use them, for any
reason.
Cardmembers can avoid cancellation of infrequently used cards by
reading all American Express correspondence coming to their
billing address.
If you receive one of these letters, you will be given the option
to telephone American Express (number will be included in letter)
to stop the cancellation process. Each cardmember will be
responsible for halting the cancellation of his/her own card.
Please do not delay in making this call.
